Salon Staff Guidelines

Crafting Excellence, One Guideline at a Time

Be On Time.

Arrive punctually. When a customer schedules an appointment, it's with purpose. Being tardy, taking excessive personal breaks, or making customers wait sets a negative tone from the get-go. Show consideration and respect for your customers' time, recognizing that your actions reflect on the salon's reputation. Ensure your tools are prepared and your station is clean. Clear away remnants from your previous client and be ready to provide undivided attention to the client currently in your chair.

Keep your cell phone quiet and out of sight.

Taking personal calls while you are doing a client’s hair is just plain rude. Restrict your calls to breaks and lunchtime. If there’s truly an emergency at home, instruct your family to call the salon and leave a message.

Remain courteous and professional when talking with your client.

Steer clear of sensitive topics like religion and politics. Mind your language to avoid unintentional offense. Instead, try to engage with the client's interests and hobbies.

Dress Professionally

Dress professionally. Your attire plays a crucial role in shaping your professional image. Research indicates that dressing smartly and upholding a polished appearance greatly enhance client impressions. A tidy, well-groomed look fosters confidence in clients, encouraging them to aspire to a similar standard of elegance and grooming. Maintain good hygiene by smelling pleasant, ensuring fresh breath, and refraining from overpowering fragrances. Remember to use deodorant to keep yourself and those around you comfortable, as you'll be working closely with clients and colleagues for extended periods.

Don't hang out at the frontdesk.

Avoid lingering around the front desk area, as it can cause distractions for newcomers entering and clients completing transactions. Additionally, front desk personnel have numerous responsibilities and tasks to attend to, making it essential to minimize disruptions in their workspace.

Clean up shampoo bowl after client

Speak audibly but considerately, ensuring conversations are private and not disruptive to others in the salon environment.

Never Cancel a client's appointment.

Never canceling a client's appointment demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and respect for their time and commitment. It builds trust and loyalty, fostering long-term relationships that are essential for the success of any business. Additionally, canceling appointments can inconvenience clients, disrupt schedules, and potentially lead to negative reviews or loss of business. Consistently honoring appointments strengthens your reputation and sets a positive standard for customer service.

Commit to continuous improvement.

In the dynamic world of hairstyling, ongoing learning is essential. Stay updated on trends, tools, and techniques through seminars, professional development courses, and industry publications. This dedication enhances confidence and proficiency, ensuring clients receive the best service possible.

Parking Rules

To keep things running smoothly for everyone at Oaselle Salon, we’d like to clarify the following guidelines:

Quick Stops: If you need to drop off items, feel free to use the back lot for up to 5-10 minutes—no issues at all!

Extended Parking: However, if you park in the back lot for more than 10 minutes during salon hours, a $50 fee will be added to your invoice for each incident. This will be reflected on your weekly invoice.

Evening Convenience: After 6 PM, you’re more than welcome to move your car to the back lot for safety and convenience. Additionally, please be mindful of our neighboring businesses and refrain from parking in their spots. Our salon has six parking spaces reserved for Oaselle customers and owners, and we want to ensure everyone has access when they need it.

Alternatives for Consideration: If parking is tight, we encourage using nearby street parking when available. We’re all working together to make our salon a great experience for everyone, and we truly appreciate your support and cooperation.
